Our eighth iteration of Esprechelon is a delicious washed lot from a group of producers local to the village of El Tablón de Gomez in the beautiful Nariño Department of south-western Colombia.
Tablón de Gómez is characterized by its mountainous landscape, volcanic soil and cold weather. These conditions are ideal for producing exceptional coffee. The region's unique terroir contributes to the distinct quality and flavor profiles of the coffee produced here. Every year, the dedication and hard work of coffee farmers and associations result in some of the best coffee lots of the Department and Colombia.
The farms that contributed to this lot are located at altitudes of between 1800 and 2100m, and most of them also utilize shade-grown coffee production. This system helps create a cooler environment, promoting slower ripening of the coffee cherries. This slower maturation leads to more complex and sweeter coffee profiles - ideal for a delicious and balanced espresso.
